While living away for over 10 years, feeling homesick, working tirelessly towards our dream of moving closer to family and owning our own farm. We can say we finally did it. After 7 moves, many career changes and the arrival of our daughter, we finally moved back home to Saskatchewan.
When Chad and I first met, we both worked in commercial agricultural. We had a dream to own our own place and that dream has finally came true. We now live on 320 beautiful acres surrounded by trees and pasture.
We are a small cattle operation, We are learning and researching how to start regenerative agriculture practices in the next year. I have noticed over the years, it takes a special person to care enough for the land as well as animals to want to tend and steward both to the best of their ability.
I have a background in nursing, which I believe makes the caring aspect so much more important to me. Since I am no longer caring for patients, I am caring for my daughter, chickens, my garden, my farm and my home.
I love to live a simple, homemade lifestyle. Learning homesteading skills that have been lost over the last couple generations. There is nothing better then preparing a meal with food that was grown your own garden, giving gifts that your hands made, or tending to a home that your loved ones love in.
